This is apparently normal...I restored a 69, small block,with orig sidepipes, and on first trip thought I had messed up on the heater system . Seemed as it was on all the time ! Am restoring a 66 now, and am installing a foil based heat barrier to help with this issue. Crusing on cool evenings or spring & fall is great ! Vic
