HELP !!!!!
Have a 1982 Corvette, have problem with electrical charging, etc.
replaced battery 4Xs; just replaced the oil guage, alternator, starter. Battery will not charge, dash taken out, checked wires, when guages all hooked up.....will not start, when jump wiring it, will start but wires get warm. Mechanic is stupmped....checked wires...none seem burnt that he can see....does not know what to do. Call into GM to see if they know anything....any recalls or problems with an 1982 Corvette.
Can anyone provide hints or help...can not drive in the present condition.
Thanks..JAnnechino@AOL.com

You might want to try. Putting an Om-meter on both battery cables & check the resisitance in your cables .Also ,at the the same time cleanup cable contections.Look and see if you have an inline fuse any where that will really effect your charging I think ? But it sure wont lwet you start yor toy !! Dam" Good luck with your Vette !

Sounds like an alternator relay is stuck, replace with new one, cheap fix. If not then its probably in the computer, behind front seat.

Have you found an answer to your problem?
The wires getting warm typically means that you are drawing too much amperage. I agree with possable cable or terminal connection problem. I have an 82 C.E. and found the connection worn at the altenator, but it was tough to see it. Please post what you have found

I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH INFOMATION HOWEVER, CHECK BATTERY CABLE CONNECTION AT STARTER. MAY BE SHORTED TO BLOCK.
