Len, I used to have an '89 convertible. The rotator gears are plastic and wear out. Make sure you replace them with metal gears available from Mid America, Ecklers, etc. You can do this yourself if you take your time. Is your Corvette convertible gray? Len, I have a 2007 C6 Coupe and had a place here in Vegas install a color-matching console for me. The name of the place is Tucker's GM Performance Center, 5140 S. Cameron Street and the phone number is (702) 220-4660. Their sign says they specialize in Corvette restoration/repair and they did a great job for me at a reasonable price.
